Pope Benedict XVI is been treated in hospital today with a suspected broken wrist, and twisted ankle after a fall in his bathroom whilst on holiday.
Benedict XVI who is 82 was seen walking into the local Parini hospital with his private secretary monsignor Georg Ganswein at around 10am this morning.
The Vatican was quick to release a statement saying that it wasn’t serious and that the pope was been checked over as a precaution, and was due to have an x-ray on both injury’s.
Every summer Pope Benedict XVI takes a break in a chalet in Les Combes in the Italian Alps which is now traditional and was started by Pope John Paul II.
Benedict XVI has been lucky and hasn’t had any injury’s or visits to hospital since he was elected leader of the roman Catholic church back in April 2005.
