An over exuberant golfer in California sparks a wildfire that spread for 12 acres after trying to hit his ball out of the rough on the Shady Canyon golf course in Irvine. The fire started after the golfer struck a stone with his club sending a spark into the parched wooded hill nearby.
Fire officials stated that approximately 150 fire fighters attended to the blaze and the cause of the fire was found after interviewing people at the scene. The golfer, who has not been named, will not face any charges over the fire.
South California regularly suffers from wildfires during the summer months as the ground dries out because of the heat.
