Tesco to sell erectile dysfunction drug Viagra

Posted by infozone On September - 21 - 2010

UK supermarket Tesco has announced that it plans to sell erectile dysfunction drug Viagra for just £52 for eight pills; Boots pharmacist currently sells four Viagra pills for £55 and this new move by Tesco could start a price war.

Tesco’s will start to sell Viagra next Monday but assured customers that a trained pharmacist would vet customers before selling the drug. The drug will only be available to men between 40 and 65 and they will have to fill out a questionnaire and have their cholesterol and blood pressure taken, as well as having a diabetes test.

Dr Nick Tomlinson from the Sexual Advice Association believes that this over-the-counter approach could be a good idea saying, “Men can be very embarrassed about going to their GP for help with things like this,” adding that some men have resorted to buying Viagra from the internet, which could be a health risk if they were supplied with fake drugs.

Michigan Police are searching for a man who committed an armed robbery at a Get & Go store in Ferndale, Michigan wearing a Darth Vader mask. The man entered the store on Monday afternoon, pulled out a butcher’s knife and demanded all of the money from the cash register.

The stores shop assistant gave the man the money and he fled (presumably back to the Death Star); Police Lieutenant William Wilson told local press, “I guess he didn’t have a lightsaber with him,” but said that the assailant had made a ‘significant mistake’ during the robbery.

The man only put his Darth Vader mask on after he was caught by the stores CCTV cameras and police released his description as, a white male with a goatee and dark hair. He was wearing dark trousers and a blue v-neck jumper.

Golfer sparks 12 acre fire in California

An over exuberant golfer in California sparks a wildfire that spread for 12 acres after trying to hit his ball out of the rough on the Shady Canyon golf course in Irvine. The fire started after the golfer struck a stone with his club sending a spark into the parched wooded hill nearby.

Fire officials stated that approximately 150 fire fighters attended to the blaze and the cause of the fire was found after interviewing people at the scene. The golfer, who has not been named, will not face any charges over the fire.

South California regularly suffers from wildfires during the summer months as the ground dries out because of the heat.
